NIGERIAN INSPECTOR GENERAL OF POLICE MOVES TO SAFEGUARD THE FORCE FROM KYARI’S CORRUPT PRACTICES
The IGP delay in dishing out the right sort of exposure and punishment to the culpable DCP has dealt a destructive blow to his later move
The Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, has ordered the closure of All satellite units of the Intelligence Response Team and Special Tactical Squad across the country.
This comes a day after the arrest of the suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Abba Kyari, and others by authorities of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency over alleged drug dealings.
This is a good move but how will this solve the current problem at hand involving the almighty head of a supposed Intelligence Response Team?. If not for NDLEA, the whole country will still be in the dark.
The Nigerian police is a scare to a common man. This is how they closed SARS and still continue to see them on the road harassing the youth. It also suspended Abba "El Chapo" kyari and he's still stealing bricks from traffickers and selling cocaine brinks seized from criminals with police officers.
IGP has already proven to be culpable by delaying his investigation and prosecution since the matter came to light. He even attempted to shield him by giving him a light punishment through demotion.
Whats the fate of the people these rogue police force are charged to protect and serve?.
