The Taliban have requested representation at the United Nations General Assembly meeting in New York on Tuesday and nominated their Doha-based spokesman Suhail Shaheen as Afghanistan's ambassador to the UN,
Report says the country is currently represented by Ghulam Isaczai, an appointee of Afghanistan's former democratic government, whose credentials are being challenged by the country's new rulers.
This petition comes a month after the Western-backed government collapsed and the Taliban took control of Afghanistan. Already putting in place thier type of governance.
Now, the new Taliban is asking for an audience at the floor of the UN, and it's likely they are given the audience and the chance to announce their motives to the world.
Its evident that the Taliban led Afghanistan government is taking all the right steps in nursing the country and their own system of government back to the international stage. All indications suggest they will be allowed to govern on their own terms.
