The inner caucus of ASUU known as NEC, (National Executive Council) of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) held its meeting on Sunday, in Abuja to decide the next line of action on its industrial action that is now about 168 days.

The strike has long paralyzed all activities on all Nigerian federal and states universities and all academic purposes has been grounded since the commencement of the strike action.

ASUU and other university based unions went on strike over alleged federal government’s failure to honour their agreements and demands bordering on welfare, funding of the universities, payments systems amongst others since February 14th

Till date, the strike seems endless as several meetings, interventions, consultations and FG-ASUU negotiations, have not yield any fruitful results.
