a bold move that has stirred the Nigerian business and political scene, Aliko Dangote, chairman of the Dangote Group, has disclosed that Farouk Ahmed, CEO of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), spent a staggering $5 million on his children’s education in Switzerland.

According to a paid newspaper advert released on Tuesday, the extravagant sum covered the secondary education of four of Ahmed’s children over six years. Dangote named the beneficiaries as Faisal Farouk, Farouk Jr., Ashraf Farouk, and Farhana Farouk.

The billionaire businessman emphasized that the schools attended were some of Switzerland’s most prestigious institutions, including Montreux School, Aiglon College, Institut Le Rosey, and La Garenne International School.

Dangote previously alleged on Monday that Ahmed’s $5 million expenditure represented a form of economic sabotage and corruption, raising serious questions about financial governance within NMDPRA.
