The recent happenings between the Edo state governor Godwin Obaseki and APC has reach a new halt as member of the PDP filled a court order to stop governor Obaseki from participating in the PDP primary election slated for Thursday.

Mr. Donald Denwigwe (SAN), Chief F. Orbih, SAN, Mr Ogbeide-Ihamaand and the leader of PDP in Edo State, had asked the court to stop Obaseki from participating in the primaries on the ground that his defection to the party in fewer days to the gubernatorial primary is meant to destabilize the party and is unreasonable.

Obaseki would probably be shocked when the court ruled against him, stoping him from participating in the PDP primaries

Receiving tons of accolades from his admirers in the past few days for his heroic defection strategy, it was a huge clearity of the learning curve on how politics played out in Nigeria to the Edo state governor,

That some people in his new home might actually went their way to stop him from participating despite the commendation from high number of people for his supposedly heroic move, this means that switching lanes in Nigerian politics doesn’t necessarily translate to switching fate.

He had earlier been granted waiver by the party after his defection from the APC., but the leading PDP governorship aspirant in Edo State couldn’t just fold his arm and surrender his bright opportunities to some party new comers.

Although the court is adjourned to continue on Wednesday, it’s unlikely that he (Obaseki) would be allowed to participate.

The court, presided over by Justice E. A. Obile, after listening to the submission of Denwigwe and Orbih, ordered the defendants not to allow Obaseki or any member or non-member of the party other than those that have bought the ticket and are subsequently screened within the time stated in the timetable to contest for Thursday’s primary.

The judge also ruled that orders and other processes be served on Secondus, Ogidi and Chinda by substituted means at their residences in Port Harcourt. The order and other processes are also to be served on the PDP at its national headquarters in Abuja and Obaseki at the Government house in Benin city.

The last night ruling against Obaseki shows another twist of fate in the cause of politics in Nigeria, should he not be allowed to participate in the primary slated tomorrow, what will he (Obaseki) do?….Will he Dump PDP, go back to APC?, will he stayed in PDP…? despite denying him the ticket to run or will he seek for another platform to run..?

It will be interesting to know
