It's in the news that the U.S. security agency spied on Angela Merkel and other top European officials through Danish cables. It's appalling that the Denmark's secret service helped the US National Security Agency (NSA) to spy on European leaders, including German Chancellor Angela Merkel and President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, as revealed by an European media investigation published on Sunday.

Theres a web of counter intelligence spying between countries and intelligence units around Europe and countries around the world. Countries involvements in each other policies to determine best decisions in dealing with each other.

Some of the spying activities was also reported last year: "the NSA tried to use its collaboration with the Danish military intelligence service to spy on targets in some other European countries and even on targets in Denmark itself.  

Danish intelligence also helped the US agency to spy on the Danish foreign and finance ministries as well as a Danish weapons manufacturer.

The FE also cooperated with the NSA on spying operations against the US government itself. Upon discovering exactly how far the cooperation between the two services went, the Danish government forced the entire leadership of it FE to step down in
