It's a weird way to refute the claim about Wilder turning down two lucrative offers. But Wilder himself admitted to turning down an AJ fight to fight Fury because he was a "man of his word"
Although, AJ lost after the DAZN offer to Wilder. Now the flat fee was never an issue. He walked away with less dollars overall to fight the same guy but yeah, that's a good excuse.
