At #theplatform, one of the speaker in Dr Charles Omole talked on an issue boardering on governance and participation. He does makes too much sense. "If we change the system and keep the actors, the intended output of devolution cannot be guaranteed." He stressed that. "Citizen participation is not getting more people to vote but get more people involved in running the show." There is need to refresh leadership. We cannot continue to have same players and expect change. 

This statement is as factual as anything that exist in Nigerian governor ace right now. It's a state the country found itself, a former military general some thirty years ago, still the president as a democratically elected president. Interested actors willing to take over in 2023 are also old and hungry politicians who have held one position or another in the last 50yrs. They don't have fresh ideas, they have no motivations no matter what they tend to use in deceiving the people.

Although, the Dr seems to asked too much of a civil servant when he tried to hold them accountable for corrupt politicians. He who obviously was placed in office by a politician cannot come against his superior, his powers lies in the backing of his master who choose him to occupy the position. He does not seems to understand how the civil service works. To hold them responsible for corruption was wrong, these are people at the mercy of the politicians. Who fights for them. Who stands for them, Obvious, he choose no to put into thought the fate of the Rivers state Chief Judge and the former CBN governor under Oresident Goodluck Jonathan.

Its best if we try to install a system that will prevent corruption and this is where I agreee with him on the basis of putting in place fresh minds to champion the nations cause, people that can think outside the box and profer a solution to a particular problem. We need leaders that felt challenged when they are faced with a problem to solve. This is where we should look into come 2023
