Government eases lockdown despite cases increase in some states

The federal government on Monday evening announces the second phase of the ease lockdown strategy. Chairman of the Presidential Taskforce (PTF) on Covid-19 and Secretary to the Government of the Federation SGF, Mr Boss Mustapha stated this at the covid-19 briefing in Abuja on Monday evening.
He further explained that within the extended phase, there will also be a safe re-opening of schools for graduating students To go back to classes in order to complete their education. Ban has also been lifted on interstate movements and would only take place outside curfew hours.
He further stated that; Specifically, however, the following measures shall either remain in place or come into effect: Maintaining the current phase of the national response for another four weeks in line with modifications to be expatriated by the National Coordinator; Permission of movement across State borders only outside curfew hours with effect from 1st July, 2020; Enforcement of laws around non-pharmaceutical interventions by States.
