HAPPENINGS AROUND THE WORLD AS AFCON2021 KICKSTARTS IN CAMEROON

Yesterday we saw mother of Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze holding the player's legs to pray before he goes to Afcon. Today, wife of Sierra Leone player Musah Tombo said goodbye to husband kneeling and holding legs to pray. #AFCON2021

The Afcon is more than you think. It is more than just football this is an African heritage. One of those heritage is the power and spirituality of the women in our lives (Mothers/Sis/Wives) As an African man you know when they pray for you from their heart heaven and the universe  will rise up for you.

At the 2015 edition of the AFCON, the winner received $1.5m as prize money.  After 7 years, the prize has shot up by 230%. The winner of #AFCON2021  takes home $5m. Impressive. Hope this comes home to Nigeria.

Need to say that 5m is just the prize for winning the finals, there are prizes for everystage of the stage of the competition. Italy won €34m at the end of everything.

There'll be around 660 players at #AFCON2021. While 191 of that number were born in Europe. Out of that, 109 of them were born in FRANCE.

Rwandan Salima Mukansanga is set to become the first woman ever to officiate as a center referee at the Africa Cup of Nations when the tournament kicks off this Sunday in Cameroon.  Mukansanga has been to the Olympics, FIFA Women’s World Cup, AWCON, CAFWCL etc. #AFCON2021
