The federal government announced the suspension of WAEC examination for the Nigerian student due to the high increase in the spread of the deadly corona virus.

This decision has generated a lot of reaction from the general populace as it’s difficult to understand why such an important activities will be suspended while some other encompassing endeavors could be allowed to hold.

While in a conversation with some educationist and parents, they are quick to voice their concern on why examinations will be suspended while elections will be allowed to hold.

Presently, elections are been prepared to hold in Edo and Ondo states respectively, while all possible preparations are under way to conducts elections, a general examination practices that cut across west African states is been cancelled only in Nigeria because of the fear of the spread of the covid-19.

This is why Nigerian parents are skeptical of the devastating effect the suspension may have on their children/ward in a general perspective.

Arguing that if it’s possible for the federal government and INEC to conduct elections in two states in Nigeria, why is it difficult to conduct a West African Examination for fewer candidates in a specified locations across the country.

The questions remain unanswered and hopefully there will be a common ground where this decision by the government will be rectified to fill the vacuum that the cancellation will provide on the path of the affected students nationwide.
