The Nigerian Labour Congress has suspended a strike action supposedly to commence today to protest the hike in fuel and electricity bills, the body having given the federal government weeks to reverse it decision on the increase, insists there's no going back this time around as there's no other way around it. This isnt the first time a strike action will be threatened and no be carried out since the Buhari administration.

The purported strike promised to be an economy lockdown of the country as all financial institutions, schools, federal and state workers  in all sectors are mobilized to join the protest nationwide if it held. The increament in PMS sees about 35% while electricity tarrif was also increased by almost 38%, all effort to convince the federal government to revert it decisons on the increase all prove abortive. But the NLC is bent on making sure the federal government reverse it decision on the increament.

It seems the federal government is always in the mind of adding more burden to the already wobbling knee of the masses, as it always look to the extort the populace at every given opportunity. Meanwhile the Nigerian politicians and lawmakers earnings and financial spendings are overwhelmingly crumbling the fragile financial purse of the country. The inbalance in the country's set up is the main reason the country is struggling with his finances.

The law makers would've done pretty well if they had come up with means by which their expenses be curtailed to accommodate the financial crisis the country is facing in the wake of crude oil irrelevances in the oil market, it was gathered that financial allocations of he Nigerian political officials are greater than the whole country's expenses. This will definitely create a gapping hole in the country purse no doubt and there's has never been a reaction to look into this and find a permanent solution to it.

Should the strike commence and finally carried out eventually, it will be interesting to experience the outcome of the exercise.
