In a historic and culturally significant ceremony, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, marked his 10th anniversary on the throne by bestowing a rare and prestigious title upon Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu (OON, CON). She was officially crowned the Asiwaju of Oodua Land, a title reserved for exceptional leadership, service, and influence across the Yoruba nation and beyond.

The grand event, held at the iconic Oduduwa Hall of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, attracted powerful dignitaries, royal personalities, government officials, and cultural ambassadors from across Nigeria and the world. Many of the attendees arrived by helicopter, underscoring the national and global significance of the celebration. Their presence illuminated the ancient city of Ile-Ife, the cradle of Yoruba civilization.

During the investiture, the First Lady expressed deep gratitude to the Ooni for the honour, describing the title as “deeply meaningful” both personally and spiritually.
