REACTIONS ON REP. LIZ CHENEY SPEECH UPON LOOSING LEADERSHIP POSITION

Rep. Liz Cheney on Tuesday delivered a defiant speech hours before facing a vote to oust her from House Republican leadership for her repudiation of Donald Trump’s election lies. “Remaining silent and ignoring the lie emboldens the liar,” she said.

I am not a Republican (anymore) but I truly admire Cheney for standing up against lies and the attack on our democracy. She knows she will lose power, but unlike her ball-less colleagues she is willing to do the right thing anyway.

“I will not sit back and watch in silence, while others lead our party down a path that abandons the rule of law and joins the former president’s crusade to undermine our democracy.” How I hate the GOP for making me cheer for Liz Cheney. Like her, I fear for our democracy.

I agree!  Liz Cheney is someone I never, in a thousand years, thought I would defend.  But these are strange times.  What she is fighting is all of our fight.  It is the fight for our democracy against corruption and treason.

Totally Agree !! For decades now, America has declared themselves as the leader of the “free world”. Now the free world is concerned that America is becoming less free and less democratic !

Ms. Cheney has spent her life emboldening republican extremism.  Who could have predicted it would then be directed at her? What’s that—-Ms. Obvious says everyone predicted it.  She’s almost always right too.

It’s karmic that she is now a victim of the very same GOP purity test she espoused- as did her father and George W Bush. “It represents a remarkable arc for Ms. Cheney, the daughter of a conservative dynasty who was once spoken of as a future House speaker and now stands on the cusp of being relegated to the political wilderness.” From the article 

Honestly didn't like trump 98% of the time but would loved the meme for the "your fired" afterwards, oh well, she wasn't exactly good leadership for that party before Jan anyway so oh well...
