Four astronauts splashed down along Florida’s gulf coast after a trip in a SpaceX capsule. It was NASA’s first nighttime water landing since 1968. After 167 days in space, the longest duration mission for a U.S. spacecraft since the final Skylab mission in 1974, Dragon and the Crew-1 astronauts, @Astro_illini, @AstroVicGlover, Shannon Walker and @Astro_Soichi, returned to Earth this morning!

The  return of the SpaceX Crew Dragon and four astronauts this morning was pretty much perfect.. No space junk was produced in this mission. Everything was either brought back to Earth or burnt up in the atmosphere. it's starting to feel like every day brings us closer to another Moon landing @NASA and @SpaceX Makes First Nighttime Splash Down With Astronauts Since 1968.

In the most fitting fashion, their mission, which certified the return of astronaut launches from the U.S., ended with an equally historic nighttime splashdown at 2:56am ET (06:56 UT)
