THE AFTERMATH OF FOOD BLOCKAGE FROM THE NORTH TO THE SOUTH IN NIGERIA
The decisions of some northern thinkers to block food supply to the south has backfired .
In Kaduna : A "waste bin" basket of tomatoes crashed from 8K to N150. Yet no buyers. In Kano (Gun-Dutse): bag of Onions frm N35k to N7k. In Minna(Garatu) : Kwarai of feet size yam tubers from 45k to 18k. In Jos (Barkin Ladi, Anpam West ), bag of arish potatoes from N17K to N9k. In Kano : farmers went to d extent of unsuccessfully trying to use the airport to move food down south. In Abuja : the DSS was inviting herders to settle the issue. In Bauchi (Til De Fulani) , farmers were promoting unity (North & South). On some media, Millions were lost to food transported to other countries frm North. At the end, the Northerners who singlehandedly declared the blockade, called it off.
This latest development means the northerners need the southerners more than the southerners needs them, they can survive without them, but they can’t survive without the southerners. Here are different reactions from the southerners;
The North deliberately sent their herdsmen to the south to destroy our farm produce so that we can't harvest any seeds and to force the South to depend on them for food supplies but they have failed,their food blockage will be a blessing to the Southerners towards self sufficiency in food production. A lesson must be learnt in all these things. We are all brothers and sisters. Let us do everything in unity and freedom and forget Religion. Everyone is free to worship what each believed yet be United in all things. With this, Nigeria is going to be ONE.
We should learn to grow some our food in our compound. It's called farm fresh. We're still eating the yams I cultivated last year. The truth that the farmers are christians in Kaduna, Gombe, Plateau, Nassarawa. The farmers are not Fulanis & Hausa. So it is the small tribes who are mainly farmers being punished so that they can be converted to Buhari's Religion. It is another phase of Jihad War in North Nigeria. - impoverish the christian hardworking farmers so that they either convert or they die out of poverty!
That's what lack of wisdom causes to an unenlightened society. Their poor minds did not allow them to understand that those items are perishables. Even in a tinkle of an eye they will lost there usefulness. The north west and part of north east are the problem of this country better the southern state and middle belt states team up political to defeat the cows that believe they owns the country. Southerners are also farmers we don't depend on them for surviver, they depend on us the south for surviver. They tested it and seen it for themselves.
