A lot of things can be responsible for depression, while going through a rough time like a breakup or parents get divorced can be responsible for the imbalance for depression, it isn’t the only cause of the problem. Also, having a close personal relationships with people who can provide support when needed is also a very big turn off for depression. Sharing life experiences with matured mind can help as well.

Getting involved in school, community, worship or religious houses activities can also help to disband a depression episode. It’s important to remember that all of these wouldnt mean you never get depressed. It just means you are less likely to and can also help to get out of it through the help of the people whom we have close contact with or whom we can pour out our mind to in the early period of sliding into depression.

Also, getting involved in health ruinous habit can be responsible for depression drinking or smoking heavily will result in depression at a time if one isn't really careful. Doing drugs is a sure way of sliding into depression so it's advisable to stay off drugs. Keeping to oneself, thinking too much or evaluating or juxtaposing ones life with another persons living is a sure way of being depressed. It's advisable to stay off these excesses in order to stay off depression or have a chance to beat it if one slides into depression.
