They are either scared of trump or the base. It will be an exercise in futility. But it must be attempted. The entire world saw him incite a mob of rabid trumpers. Republicans know it too. We have to have the trial to document the seriousness of Trump’s insurrection.
This is a second chance for the GOP to do the right thing, to be on the right side of history that is right and just for Amrican country, values and laws. But some Grand Old Pansies afraid of Trump and pro Trump constituents wouldn't let it happen, and suddenly the rule of law and its upholding becomes a second fiddle and the country looked upon by the word as the upright ee of just and righteousness has been shaken to the core of its values. With no obvious repercussion at sight for the offender.
