UNITED NATIONS SECURITY COUNCIL REACTED TO RUSSIA’S INVASION OF EASTERN EUROPE

The United Nations political affairs chief Rosemary DiCarlo has denounced the "order to deploy Russian troops into eastern Ukraine" during an emergency Security Council meeting on Ukraine. 

The session was requested by Kyiv, the United States, Mexico and several European countries after Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the recognition of the self-declared Donetsk People’s Republic and Luhansk People’s Republic on Monday.

The rotating Security Council Presidency is currently held by Russia who received no support from members of the U.N. Security Council at an emergency meeting for his actions to bring separatists in eastern Ukraine under Moscow’s control.

It's believed that China, Russia supplying Myanmar junta with weapons used to attack civilians, UN rights expert says. Special Rapporteur urges UN vote "on a resolution to at a minimum ban those arms transfers that the Myanmar military are known to use to attack and kill Myanmar civilians"
