The coalition for nigeria agenda which was recently launched by the former president seems like a far fetch solution to the many problems of the Nigerian nation. The state at which the country is truthfully requires a special surgical intervention and a responsive one at it, but the means by which the intervention might come doesn’t seem like the right means by which the solution can be achieved. The country has been so unlucky that the same set of old retirees advocating for the coalition for the intervention of the country are the same one responsible for the state of the country as at present.

Since independence, the likes of General Olusegun Obasanjo, General Badamosi Babangida, President Mohammadu Buhari, General Abdulkareem Abubakar, General Olagunsoye Oyinlola and a host lot of others have been in the elm of affairs of the country, which means they had a hand in the way country has turn out since independence and the state at which it’s right now. so coming together of these same set of people to outstead one of their own seems like a kids play right now. To understand the reason for their sudden involvement in a coalition to safe the country. It’s imperative to trace what brough5 us here.

Prior to going into 2015 general elections, these same old leaders came out openly to castigate the leadership of the then President Goodluck Jonathan. With the help of the opposition party, they decided to choose one of their old pal in the military. It’s no secret that the former president come up with an open letter address to the president on his failures and further advices him not to recontest for presidency and the rest is history.

Fast forward to 2018, a year before the general election, the same former president came up with a letter to castigate the same man they prescribed for the job and subsequently go ahead to come up with a coalition to safe the country, could these men be trusted again, absolutely no. although all the former president stated in his letter about the present of the nations are outrightly true but how long do the country has to listen to his wrong prescriptions, how valid can his recent prescriptions be and is it wise to listen to him again?.

Need not to say that all saving grace for the country has been exhausted by these old men, it’s time for them to allow younger bloods to c9me to power for once, but it feels like they feel insecure of such take over and always come up with a means to retain power in their midst, it’s t8me for the Nigerian youth to look inward and come up with means to get involved in Nigerian leading class whereb6 these all men could be made to go on retirement and leave the mantle of leadership t9 the appropriate quarters. If anybody thinks Obasanjo coalition attempt is the Nigerian Solutions, such individual or group of people should think again.
