PRESIDENT BIDEN AND VLADIMIR PUTIN DISCUSS UKRAINE ISSUES

It's in the news that the US President Joe Biden and Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke for approximately two hours during a planned video conference on Tuesday, according to the White House.
Russia has denied a new assault on Ukraine and warned against any NATO military involvement, Biden reiterated support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and urged the use of diplomatic options, according to a White House statement.

Ukraine has been a point of contention for the two countries since the annexation of Crimea in 2014, President Biden also speaks with the leaders of France, Germany, Italy and the UK later on Tuesday.
President Biden also warned Putin about possible sanctions against Russia in case of an escalation. He pledged to make it "very, very difficult" for Putin to attack Ukraine, saying that a set of new initiatives coming from his administration are intended to deter Russian aggression.
He pointed out that things we did not do in 2014, we are prepared to do now if Russia should escalate go ahead with his plan in ukraine despite America's money.
